Publicized in 1998 as the answer to The Full Monty, the
film chronicles the breakup and subsequent 20 year reunion of
a 70's rock band called Strange Fruit. While the film never
really achieved high profile success and widespread box office
appeal, it's still very well known in many countries. Stephen
Rea's memorable performance in this film as Tony Costello is easily
remembered, no matter what band you follow.
Often characterized as the sweeter and more poignant version of
This is Spinal Tap, the film is highly unique, shot in
a rockumentary style and complimented by an excellent cast with
music by both Mick Jones of the group Foreigner and Chris
Difford of Squeeze. Look for a great performance by Stephen
Rea as an aging keyboard player who is still looking for what
was missing when the band broke up...

HUGHIE (NARRATING)
I think God just gets tired of all that 70's excess.
That's why he created The Sex Pistols.
